Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
