The Pop Star Embraces a Twisted Persona of Herself in Fictional Documentary First Look
Charli XCX is gearing up for a significant big screen presence in 2026, starting with the mockumentary titled The Moment.
Throughout the movie, the artist embodies what she calls as a twisted version of her own persona.
It’s the realest depiction of the music industry that I’ve ever witnessed, Charli remarked.
She further explained in a conversation: It’s not a tour documentary, but the idea came from the demand to create one.
An Early Look into The Film
The debut trailer, unveiled on recently, combines real clips from her recent tour with imagined behind-the-scenes moments.
The film is helmed and co-scripted by the director, who explained that the narrative centers on a scenario where the artist opted for alternate decisions in the publicity of her chart-topping release Brat.

The film is just one of numerous forthcoming screen roles for the star, who recently featured in three festival films this year.

She recently joined to appear in the actress’s maiden directing project A Tree in Blue.
I am really enjoying my acting journey, Charli shared. I’m highly enthusiastic currently in this area, and I always want to do projects that excite me.
Musical Contributions
The month of February will also see the debut of the filmmaker’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will include new music from the singer.
Additionally, she will provide music for the film Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released next year.
The film will be released on January 30.
